I have had some crabby outbursts as well. I came to the conclusion that my pain med was giving me the anxiety so I stopped that stopped that and have felt so much better!

I'm close to your sleeve date....May 20th.....but sure could use a buddy!!!

how are you doing post-op would love to have a buddy
I'm now 5 days post op, got most of my liquids in today but noticing more gas at night. I'm still sleeping in a recliner, but having not a lot of trouble getting around, so will try and switch to the bed tomorrow.

Had an emotional outburst to my kids this evening (6 and 9) when they came running into our room for movie night with sunflower seeds and bags of popcorn, I said something about stepping on the feed bags and had to put myself in timeout in the other room. Then had to apologize to them for lashing out. Felt terrible. Keep on eye on those emotions y'all, I'm the normally calm and logical one in the family. I'm going to time out about for the next couple months...

Awesome!!!! I'm down 10! Can believe how fast is falling off.

Anyone else have times where you feel like you need a few more calories? I've had a couple episodes of what I think is low blood sugar. I'm not diabetic but I had gestational diabetes so I know the feeling well. Any thoughts?

Well I am finally out of the hospital and boy what an adventure that was! I had my surgery back on May 19th at 7:30 well getting positioned on the bed and the mask coming down on my face are the last things I remember until later that afternoon when I woke up for the first time. I was so glad that I had woken up and seeing my mother's face smiling down that even though I was having dry heaves I still smiled back. After my parents left I got more sleep I was so out of it and the knockout stuff always affects me strongly that I went back to sleep and did not really move from that bed until around 9:30 the next morning. Wednesday was in part agony for me because it took the student doctor a while to write the order for me to start Phase 1 but finally around 3:30 pm he did and I was finally able to have small sips of Water, I was so happy that I could do that. That night I managed to get transferred from the floor I was on down to the Bariatric ward which made me feel more comfortable and content. But by that time my lungs were giving me problems because they are a small set that surgery causes the sack that surrounds them to take on Fluid I was kept in the hospital until that could be sorted out. The first problem was the pressure from my cpap but I had no idea what the setting was but I do now so next time I can let them know right away and not have another prolong stay. Friday was the day that my Oxygen was the worst, but it was also the turning point for me in the inpatient recovery. That night I actually was strong enough to watch tv and the next two nights was even stronger. On Saturday I had an MRI done of my lungs to see what was going on with them and they clearly were able to diagnose the issue. I even now know so I can warn future surgeons about my lung issue. That night I managed to stay up till almost Midnight, get some work done on my Kindle, read my emails (over 189 of them), and play on the Kindle. The next day, yesterday I spent even more time on my Kindle just having fun and that night I was able to watch some good movies that came on cable. Today was the day. DISCHARGE!! But first had to wait for my ride home which took a while but finally got home and first thing I did was go straight to my laptop I had missed my baby! But I had also missed you guys my support people.

Yes I wake up feeling that way. It probably a combination of low sugar and not enough calories. I just sit down and sip on some juice. I so wish I could have a banana!

I know! !!! A banana with PEANUT BUTTER! OMG a girl can dream right? If we can have sugar free Popsicles what do you guys think about sugar free hard candy? 7 more days of this is torture....I swear my whole neighborhood is grilling steaks for the holiday today. I would pay significant cash for some kind of grilled chicken or beef!

Well I mind of disappeared. .. surgery went great my surgery pain was not too bad but I did end up with pancreatites. It is slowly going away. I am used to getting it due to a digestive disorder, an thankful that was the worst of it. My doctor has me on a full liquid diet that started upon release from the hospital and I do fine except for the Jello that causes pain. I don't knot what it is no mated how hard I try to chew it, it seems to slide down my throat do teeny, tiny bites! I found a chicken and beef base at Walmart called better than broth it tastes like gravy it is so good!!!

I haven't cheated although I did chew up and spit out a piece of meat lol. I'm down 15lbs :)

Well ladies I am admitted to the hospital. The oral Levaquin given to me gave me watery diarrhea and I began having dry heaves. So I am NPO and having a fluoroscopy tomorrow.

I wake up in the early hours with a painful tummy. I think it wants food as not enough has been going in during the day

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
