hstrayorn 26 Posted April 26, 2015 So I had gastric bypass and it has been great. I'm in the final phase of eating for the past few days I wasn't hungry, but today I ate shrimp and broccoli. I think I ate over the required amount, but I didn't feel full. Is this bad? I normally get full quick, but today I didn't. Is something wrong with me. wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted April 26, 2015 When was your surgery? Are you following the diet plan as your dietitian set for you? I am only 4 days post op for Gastric Sleeve, so I can't answer to gastric bypass questions, but I suppose it all depends on where you are in your recovery. Djmohr 6,965 Posted April 27, 2015 Different foods fill you up differently so it is important to measure. Also, it definitely sound like you over ate. I hate that feeling worse than any other. it just means you need to pay attention and measure until you get the hang of knowing when to stop. sometimes one extra fork full can really cause havoc. Elizabeth21 176 Posted April 27, 2015 Also, shrimp and/or broccoli may not settle as well early on. I have found that even with similar volumes of food the type of thing I eat can make a big difference. Also the timing of what I eat can matter. Remember you can learn from each experience! Good luck!
Stephanie Stroup McIntosh 157 Posted April 29, 2015 Make sure you are eating slowly. You over eat most often when you eat quickly.
