staceymaelofton 11 Posted June 4, 2015 Good luck @@zumbapink, I have had not one issue with GERD since the day I had surgery. Poof! Gone. I am two weeks out tomorrow and see the dr for my first follow up today. The first few days are rough but as long as you start moving around and walking in the hospital, the better you will feel, faster.
staceymaelofton 11 Posted June 4, 2015 Thank you @! I think I made the right choice so far. Now let's hope that eventually I'll be able to get all my fluids and Protein in.

MichJohn77 39 Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) I am in the process of getting some tests done. Had endoscopy less then a year ago. Getting gastric emptying scan today. Then I just need 1phych, 1nutrition and a upper GI series. All are scheduled next week. Hoping to have the surgery done end of June beginning of July. Just worried about insurance. Ugh. My GERD is sooo bad! I am on 5 meds because of it. Was sleeved April 2012 and now need a revision to bypass. Edited June 12, 2015 by MichJohn77

LaurenB8604 29 Posted June 26, 2015 Hey all! I will be revised from my sleeve to gastric bypass on July 20th due to a pretty large hiatal hernia as well as gerd.. I have lost about 70 pounds and I am over a year out from the first surgery. I have heard the weight loss is slower the second time around and I am just curious on what the weight loss has been for others in a revision. Would love any feedback on weight loss! mama11 0 Posted August 25, 2015 Hi I'm new on here. But I too had the VSG surgery in December 2011 and I got pregnant a year after and my pouch dilated a lot and I didn't eat bad things nor did I over eat. My surgeon doesn't want to revise me. So iam about to see another surgeon about doing revision. I'm morbidly obese I'm over 400lbs I have high blood pressure bad joint pains and my weight is crushing my lungs so it's hard for me to breath. My insurance said they could cover it cause my primary is referring it. But I'm afraid the other surgeon may not want to do it either
Dar200 285 Posted September 3, 2015 Mama 11 - I'm also morbidly obese I haven't had my surgery yet. I just want to say, find a doctor who will do the surgery. If the next one doesn't want to, go to another. You deserve to live your life without the pain of arthritis and without struggling to breath.
mama11 0 Posted September 3, 2015 Thank you Dar200! I'm gonna try. I went to my new appt at the new surgeon office Iam now seeing. She wants me to do weight management to see if I still have a eating problem. And it's gonna take several months. At the first hospital where I had my VGS they had me do weight management for a year and a half. Than he says he's not doing it I'm so tired of wasting my time! But barix clinics said they would do revision to gastric bypass but they very far from my home and my insurance they don't accept
staceymaelofton 11 Posted September 14, 2015 I am doing fabulous! I am down 47 pounds in just under four months post op. 20 more pounds and I will be at my original goal weight! I am still learning my pouch and what I can comfortably eat. The doctor was surprised by how much weight I've lost so quickly with the revision so I must be doing all things well. Thank you for asking! Good luck to all of you!
