I am almost 4 weeks post op. I am eating Protein or drinking at every meal. I feel like I am getting so full so quickly that I can't hold very much (I know that's the point) but the problem is about 2 hours later my stomach is empty again. I don't know if it's due to me working out and my body craving more calories? I feel like I'm constantly snacking.

During the liquid and purée phase, your stomach is still pretty wonky but when you start on whole foods with your Protein first, you'll feel full and stay full longer. Just be sure to follow your drinking guidelines- don't drink 30 minutes before or after. It will be normal to feel hunger but with protein first, you slow down digestion and keep that full feeling longer. Beware of sliders!

I am on whole foods. He moved me at two weeks from liquid phase to regular diet. I am pushing Proteins. But I seriously take 4-5 bites of something and I'm stuffed. So then like 2 hours later I feel like my stomach is completely empty and hungry again.

I have some hunger issues myself. I am 11 days post op and had a follow up appt yesterday. I told the dr of my concerns and am waiting for the dietitian to call me back. I did the two weeks prior to surgery mostly liquid, then the final two days clears only. I am on liquids only right now and can stomach about 5 oz at a time. I make sure I wait 30 minutes in between and am consuming 60 gms of Protein per day through shakes. The problem that I am having is I am hungry within 20 to 30 minutes of each meal. I always feeel like my stomach is soooo empty. Could it be that my body is burning the stored fat so rapidly that is why I am hungry right away? I am wondering if the dietitian will tell me to add purees already.

I am having the same issues! My dietician told me it could be mild acid reflux so I got Prilosec so I'll see if there's a difference? I am always so hungry though even though I can only have a few bites! & I have 90 grams of Protein a day!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
