Gaining control again/tiny rant

Recommended Posts

My mom went away on vacation for 2 weeks almost a month and a half a go. Ever since she left I haven't been able to gain control.

My boyfriend stayed with me a couple times while she was away and I skipped the gym and didn't eat right all time. Since she's been back I've just been a rollarcoster of a mess I have a couples good days followed by some pretty bad days. I worked out twice this week 2 times last week then nothing the week before. The week I didn't go I had a stomach bug which made everything run right through me. I was on liquids for 4 days. Since then I'm having trouble reading introducing food. And also haven't made right choices.

I just can't get a hold of myself I did 4 days of working out and sometimes meal prepped now I'm lucky if I remember to pack my lunch for work.

Suggestions? I have 26lbs till goal and I just feel so hopeless.

Get all of the junk out of your house now. Go back to basics. Drink your water/get your Protein in. Cut the simple carbs.

If you can commit to these things you won't have much room or time to eat crap.

This really sounds like self-sabotage.

Good luck to you, you can do this.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
