Puree tomorrow! Daily menu ideas please ????

Recommended Posts

I'm starting puree tomorrow! Really looking forward to eating actual food but a bit scared it's going to hurt to eat! Any suggestions on what to try? What does your daily menu look like for the puree phases?

I never actually pureed any food during my "puree phase". I just ate foods with the proper consistency. I was allowed yogurt, scrambled eggs, and soft cheeses during that same phase. You can get some recipes here:

I lived of that Baked Ricotta! It was like real food!

I eat the baked ricotta now, on regular foods - it's good! Made me violently ill on purees though, which sucked. You know when you have that taste in your mouth for something, how disappointing it is when it doesn't work out?

Anywho, I tended to go for the same things a lot on purees. pureed ground beef and green Beans (a couple of times I mashed a hunk of potato in there with it for texture), and pureed chicken with a squirt of lime juice were my two standby's. Mashed Beans went down well, too.

Good luck, and congratulations!

Thanks for the tips! I'm only one week post op...been on liquid for a week and my surgeon suggests puree for a month then soft for a month. Feeling pretty good but got a pain around my belly button scar. I did have a hernia repair there so might be that.

I will be starting pureed/soft in a couple of days. My doctor said I could have scrambled eggs with cheese, canned tuna with mayo and crackers, mashed potatoes and hummus. Absolutely no bread. It is too hard to digest. I am down 36 pounds but the scale then went up two pounds for some reason. I can't seem to lose more. Hoping real food will break it. Good luck.

I loved blended Campbell's healthy request country vegetable Soup. So much flavor. I also mashed avocado with ff Greek yogurt.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
