I'm sitting here at my desk at work with my space heater blowing right on me. I have to sit under a blanket on the couch at home. It's especially bar after I've cooled down after working out. Then I feel like a popsicle!

My surgery was December 2013 - And i am still always cold. I have a heater under my desk, wear sweaters, and love it when it is 80 to 85 degrees outside. I love my new life, so it is okay for me to always be cold.

I keep my heat set at 74, have the fireplace and a space heater running and sleep in long johns under my jammies. My husband calls spring/winter/fall his "dry spell" because he isn't getting any. I am NOT taking off a stitch of clothing when I'm always freezing.

I thought I was the only one whose body temperature has dropped! Don't get me wrong :I'll take being cold over hot flashes any day!

For years since surgery, I have been particularly cold. My feet seem to be the coldest. I have used the hair dryer to heat up my feet and shoes at home in a pinch . I wear thick socks and shoes, but still need a heater or heating pad/blanket when I am idle. I too, will trade that for sweating way more pre surgery... But Arizona and Hawaii are looking pretty enticing right about now????????

I've noticed a tremendous difference since my surgery. I was always, always hot! I would have the window open in the wintertime. Not anymore... since my surgery I sleep in pants and a long sleeve night shirt. I am always cold!

Yes! Our A/C at the office is being repaired and its close to 30c in our building if you have a window office. Everyone around me is stripping down to the bare minimum of clothing acceptable at work where as I am just comfy in my long sleeves and dress pants. Love the sun streaming in through my window and with no a/c blowing on me I don't have to wear my heavy sweater. They all think I'm nuts????

A few months ago this question was asked about being cold & there was a posting from someone that eating considerably less carbs is the reason for this. Carbs help heat your body. I think this must be true because I have noticed that when I'm keeping my carbs down under 60g I'm colder. Has anyone else heard this?

Post op with my surgery being 11-4-14 I can advise yes I am always freeZing. It's April and I constantly wear my long sleeve sweaters to work because I know everyone else will be asking to crank up the as while I'm reaching for my jacket. In all reality I'm getting 100lbs down from this time last year so I figure by fall of 2015 and winter I'll be bundled up 24/7. :)

I feel the same always cold. I wonder if it was because some of the weight is coming off and the Fluid intake. I'm just happy it's not the hot flashes that drove me crazy!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
