HI! I am about a month out, had mine 03/11. This has been a struggle for me too as I try to get away from the shakes. I eat a lot of chicken, very soft cuts of meat (like filet minion...as a treat) deviled eggs were good for a while , I also discovered Atkins frozen meals to bring to work. These are great for us, my NUT approved of them as well. The beef Merlot is actually really great and they have a nice variety of flavors. I also do Swanson Swedish meatballs every so often at work, just throw away the Pasta. Of course, I eat about two Greek yogurts a day still and my favorite drink is def Snapple diet teas...SO GREAT, taste just like the real thing! I have tried a couple of Protein bars but, didn't like any. We cant eat any of the crisp kinds yet so, the others we can are not so great in my opinion. Good luck!

Still on soft for one more week. I make one egg with 2 thin slices of ham and cheese and eat half at a time. My new favorite is browned ground turkey, cottage cheese and spaghetti sauce. Gr turkey, Beans and cheese. tuna, salmon, string cheese and turkey. It's getting old. Today I made a smoothie with 4 strawberries, 1T blueberries and kale and of course Protein Powder. So far so good. It was an errand day so lunch is a Decaf Americano with Isopure powder.< /p>

I had my bypass surgery on March 26. I have been struggling to get ideas for what to eat. Love the Atkins meals idea. Also the recipe ideas. If you have any more please share. I am so sick of cottage cheese!

I had my surgery on April 23rd at 7:30am. Of course my friend came on the 22nd which sucked since you wear a tampon. I was out of surgery around 1pm. I have been in ICU since Thursday afternoon. My doctor said I will be in here until Monday, Tuesday the latest. Monday, he is going to do the stomach test to see if everything is working properly. I won't have anything to drink or eat until Monday.

Prepost weight 274

14 days of liquid diet, cheated twice

Day of surgery 258.4

I am not sure how much I weigh now and my body is swollen from the gas that they fill your tummy before surgery and the fluids that are going into me 24/7.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
