Are flinstones Vitamins Ok?

Recommended Posts

Some here have said their program specifically told them they were fine. My program had them listed on the "do not use" list.

I was told that were ok but I would to need an Iron and possibly Vitamin D supplement to go along with them.

Depends on which formula. Stay away from all the gummies. Their best formula is the 'complete' chewable tablet. It has Iron and the large bottle is purple.

I use the complete with Iron. My NUT had me taking 4 a day.

I am taking Flintstones with Iron twice a day, not near the time when I take my Calcium. My one year labs were beyond perfect. I also take a B12 and D3. Taking these are the alternative to the bariatric horsepills that I could not tolerate.

I take mega doses of Biotin for my hair and nails and B12 plus a woman's one a day Vitamin. Every

one should take Biotin because if lose really fast like I have done your hair takes a beating. Mine

is finally looking better but some people lose their hair. Ultram sells a vitamin exclusively for

the sleeve surgery.

I posted that the website I use to get my shakes and Vitamins was Ultram, that is a pain reliever.

The correct website is powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. So sorry, it has been madness at work. Their Protein powder is the

best that I have used and it is more reasonable than what you buy in the store already mixed.

I have felt so much better since I started taking all of my Vitamins. It took about a month to

really get them in my system. I have new hair growing (yeah). I am 61 years old so maybe I need

more vitamins due to my age. I have to use gummy's or I will throw the vitamins up. I feel like a

new person. I had my surgery four months ago and for the first 3 1/2 months I couldn't eat, I

couldn't go to the bathroom, I threw up all the time. Once my bowels finally woke up and started

working, the nausea went away. I wish only the best of luck and a lot of happy tomorrows for

everyone who are working hard and taking their life back. Thank you to everyone who has helped me

on this website. I could not have made without all of the advise.

My Doc/Nut JUST updated their Vitamin recommendations and included either of Flintstones chewables or Centrum Chewables. They used to say NO to those.

Of course, you have to take other things, with these - D, Calcium Citrate, B-sub, etc. So, contact your NUT and ask what else you should take.

It seems as tho yet again we have another issues of significant variation from Program to Program, Doc to Doc, Nut to Nut.

Always best to follow what YOUR Nut and Program advise.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
