Vitamins making me stall?

Recommended Posts

Potentially stupid ? alert...does taking three Viactiv chews at the same time have any impact on weight loss? I have been told to take three - one in AM, one midday and one in PM, but my work/life makes that hard, so I take all three at the same time along with my chewable multi. I am 7 weeks out overall having good results but pretty slow progress recently, and just wondering if anyone thinks it could be related?

Talk to your doctor/nurse and/or NUT but there is a reason you are not supposed to take Calcium with the other Vitamins. That is one thing that I hear from all docs so don't take them all at once with your multi!!

Take them later in the day. I'm not sure about taking them all at once. I assume that isn't a good idea but I don't know why. If it was a good idea, they would have you do that already. Please follow doctor's orders and don't make your own rules. You will be more successful in many ways that way.

But is that causing a stall? Probably not. My guess is that if you aren't following the Vitamin rules, maybe you aren't following some of the other rules? Be very diligent.

Best of luck! Let us know how it goes.

I don't think your body will absorb all the Calcium at one time, that's why you are told to take them three times a day as your body sluffs it off as the day progresses. I'd check with your professional team and see what they think.

Personally I don't think it's your Vitamins I think it's just your body's reaction that's stalling you. As esskay77 said make sure that you're following your plan and that's not what's messing you up. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
