Just tried one yesterday (I am 2 and 1/2 weeks out) didn't care for it. Nut. said greek yogurt 0 fat was fine I actually put a tablespoon of honey on it, she said as long as sugars were under 15% would be fine. This helped me get Protein (go for high ones) and feel like your eating something. Pre made Protein drinks make me ill, just can't stomach them. Plus try Soups but make sure you puree them up.

Must admit this gets old but thankful to the heavens that I do not have to go weeks and weeks like some brave soles. Have no problem with liquids but thicker foods I really need to train myself to eat slower because it hurts. Muddling my way though this, hope you enjoy something.

A nice ripe one would mash up pretty good. Remember when you start purees, they must be runny enoigh to fall off the spoon. Maybe you could thin it out with some chicken broth.< /p>

Another problem I have is that I don't like yogurt, tried them all. I know I'm not getting enough protein because I have to force myself to drink the shakes and soups. Thanks for the help.

Avocado was hard for me to tolerate initially (first 6 months out really) but now I'm 16.5 months out and love it.... Initially it caused a stinging pain and my nut said its pointless in the beginning cause they have little Protein. Now I enjoy it with my sushi hand rolls on a regular basis ????????????

@@kyw78 - What is your food plan? Those liquid stages are challenging, but you shouldn't change anything without first consulting your doctor/medical team.

I love avocados. They are smooth going down and help me hit my 1000-1200 calories a day.

I love avocados but it might make you gassy early on. I would try very little and see how you feel.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
