leximik 1 Posted April 21, 2015 All of the sudden my hair is coming out just as predicted. I've tried shelf stuff but still coming out. I'm so good on eating well and taking all my Vitamin. I take Biotin but still coming out. Anyone have any tips and how long this will last? I need to get my hair colored and trimmed but I cancelled until I know it won't cause more harm. Any information and sharing of experiences would be very helpful.
NewSetOfCurves 1,553 Posted April 21, 2015 You can eat right, get your calories, Protein and Vitamins in, but you will most likely still experience the Hair loss. My doctor told me it would be 18 months to 2 years until my hair was finally back to its pre-op state. My extreme hair loss stopped before my year was up, but it was still coming out, just a bit more slowly. Once I got my calories up to about 1200 and maintained there for a couple months, I was then able to observe normal hair loss. Now, as 22 months out I can say that my hair is ALMOST restored to its original fullness.
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted April 21, 2015 I ate all my Protein and took all my Vitamins and still experienced Hair loss as well. It was at its worst from about 3.5 months to 5 months post-op. I am now almost 8 months and it has slowed considerably. Still have more coming out than I did pre-op, but I also have a lot of new growth.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted April 21, 2015 I did not have any issues with hair loss, but my fingernails were brittle like potato chips from months three through six. Also, my skin got real dry and flakey during the same time.
Rovobay 920 Posted April 21, 2015 it lasted about a month for me. I am a dude with short hair so I really didn't notice it too much. started around month 4. I am 7 months post-op and it looks totally normal. get in all the Protein you can!
