guitarman 0 Posted June 14, 2007 Hey guys, Long time no talk. Sorry about that. I haven't been very successful with the lapband but it is definitely my fault. It has been a very rough couple of years. Needless to say I am hoping that I can get back in the saddle soon and focus more. Anyway, Have any of you experienced a lump in your throat since being banded? I can't feel it with my hands. It is more on the inside of my throat. It feels like something is stuck and I can't get it down. Very irritating. Sometimes more so than at other times. I went to the ENT DR and he said it was acid reflux. He gave me the purple pill but I haven't noticed any improvement.
Big As Life 0 Posted June 14, 2007 Never heard of this...I have not had any problems with my throat...I can't understand why acid reflux would cause a lump......

My suggestion to you is to see your PCP so that you can be evaluated for esophageal abnormalities, goiters, etc... Sounds like you need an esophagram which is an xray procedure. But to answer your question, I am only 10 days out, but I have not experienced this. But you should really follow up on it and push for an esophagram. If that comes back negative, you should have either a thyroid ultrasound or a Cat Scan of you neck. (Just my opinion)

I have been very nervous about seeing him as I have not been very successful with the band. 60 pounds in 2 years and then hit a wall. Anyway I will take your advice and schedule something with him for early next week.
