Amount of time off?

I'm hoping to revise from band to sleeve in June. I already had a planned one week stay action before I decided to do this, so I'm hoping I can have surgery that week. My question is, when I had band surgery I had a pretty easy recovery, only took pain mess the first 2.5 days, and was getting bored at home by day 5. Is this surgery more painful? Is 7 days enough. I do have a physical job. And sometimes have to lift large dogs and such, I'm an LVT. I am not telling anyone at work about surgery, I'll just tell them I can't lift because I hurt my back or something. So I'm just curious if I'll be in more pain.

I don't know about the difference in pain levels, but I was off for 10 days. I have a desk job, so the transition back to work was not a difficult one. But I do know that I wouldn't have wanted to lift anything heavy for that 1st month. I wore the elastic stomach support under my clothes every day that 1st month, just for extra insurance. I wanted to be very very careful and give myself time to heal.

I took 2 weeks off but could have gone back after 1 week. I have a mostly desk job but had to give my employer a note about a restriction for not lifting over a certain weight for a month post op. My boss told me I could work shorter days when I returned if I wasn't feeling good but I was fine

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
