Someone stand me on my head with a mouthful of Water and scare the living shit out of me while I'm holding my breath. Surely one of those will work, right?

I get these things ALL THE FREAKING TIME since surgery, and they drive me nuts! Usually they come on after the third bite of food and let me know I'm finished eating. This morning they've hit after a few sips of my Protein Shake, and there's no way I'm giving this baby up. I go to bed at night dreaming of waking up so I can enjoy my nice refreshing delicious Muscle Monster energy Protein shake. Hiccups be damned!!

WHEN I am done rolling on the floor, I'll tell you what I do..............................................................................................

OK. I'm done, for now.....I take in as much air as possible into my lungs. I hold it for ten long, slow seconds. Then I GENTLY and SLOWLY (S L O W L Y) release the air THROUGH MY NOSE (not my mouth). I then take very shallow, slow breaths in to see if it worked. If it didn't, I try it again. It is just a matter of relaxing the diaphragm, so it may take a few times. Good luck to you....back to rolling..........................................

This may not be easy to do if you are recently post op...but this works every time...get a small glass of Water....bend forward at the waist...and drink from the "opposite" side of the glass. I promise, it works every time.

@@wannaBthinsoon, that's a new one to me. I'm 5 and 1/2 months post, so not fresh out. I'll have to give that one a shot.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
