I think I might be able to help you here! I'm not banded yet but I have been under every diet under the sun, and use air travel alot. I presume you're worried about getting protien shakes etc, Am I right? I have taken on protien shakes on board, in small plastics bags and a plastic shaker cup. They don't mind you bringing your own food as well. Remember if you're flying into USA/ Canada from an international flight you can't land fruit, veg, meats ( tins, like snack tuna is ok)! Any other Q's just PM me. Enjoy your trip!

I"d call the airport just to be sure so you don't have it confiscated. Yes, I know, 'sit down all, or I will blend you a really BAD Protein smoothie if you don't comply with my requests!'

Now that I think about it, there ARE blades in that thing, rather small, but there are still blades in there.....I'd go w/the shaker cup to be safe!

Agreed, just settle for shaking it by hand that day. Pack it in your checked luggage.

Nope, I don't think you'll get the bullet past security, shaker cup would be much better. You can also take a Slimfast to the airport with you and drink it just before you go thru security. You can't get Slimfast thru either because it's over 100ml.

On the way back from TO after my surgery. I nursed a Tomato juice on the plane and it lasted me almost the entire flight. Westjet had several juices to offer but I found the tomato juice really satisfying.

Don't take a chance. pack it in your luggage to use in the hotel if you want. Rules are rules but how they are interpreted depend on the guy with the wand. I had one officious jerk who checked me three times with the wand, made a hand search over me (if he had touched my boobs or other area I would have slugged him). I had no metal on me but because I picked up my purse before he nodded OK to do so he played "GOD". I agree with security and travel a lot but every once in awhile, you meet someone who is a jerk. So no don't take your magic wand as carryone. Doddie

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
