Five days out from surgery and pain continues

Hi all,

Surgery April 13, 2015 and today (April 18) the pain continues. Advised to take benifiber (12 gr a day) but it is producing gas which is very uncomfortable. Today is day three of puréed foods. Can only get down about 2 oz at a meal.

How long will the surgical pain continue?

P.s. I am still taking pain melds twice a day.
