How do you know not to take another bite?

For some of us our bodies gives us cues. I burp. It's really loud and kinda embarrassing, like a bullfrog. However for some that cue or feeling of restriction doesn't kick in until you hit the soft foods stage. Until I recommend keeping portion to the ¼ - ½ cup size and then stop.

I don't eat meat, but from what I understand animal Proteins are sometimes hard to digest initially. The meat needs to be really moist and you may have to eat it super slow.

I usually have a feeling of fullness at about 1/2 to 2/3 cup. Unless it is meat or eggs. I get full before I can eat a whole scrambled egg! However, I can eat 2 fried over-easy eggs. It just depends on the volume of the food I am eating.

I start to get nauseous. I don't have any trouble with meat, I can eat 2-4 oz - each meal is different.

I think it something everyone has to learn based on their body. I hate that feeling of Full. It is not worth it to me so I tend to stop before it happens. Once full I feel miserable for about 30-45 min.

Agreed. I've learned to leave those last 1 or 2 bites.

You would think being 18 months post-op I would have learned not to take those last few bite. But no and I suffer for at least 30 min.

I burp also. I have not felt the completely full feeling but I know when I am satisfied and just leave the rest. I have finally been able to spread my eating over the 30 minutes also which really helps me.

I catch myself doing a big sigh... if I stop right there I am good. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens with eggs or dense foods. If I eat one or two more bites after that I am miserable and/or sliming. I try to weigh everything just to avoid that.

This is weird but my nose will run. I also try to eat slow and let the food settle before I put too much in there and feel miserable.

that awful feeling of overeating, I'm sure it is bad to the sleeve but does anybody have any idea how it could hurt the new stomac ?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
