LousPeachy 100 Posted May 18, 2015 The biggest problem I have with the sleep study is all of the monitors and wires they have to attach to you! If you tend roll around in bed much it can be a real pain. Hope all goes well! I have used a CPAP for 7 years. For me the worse part of the study is having to get up to go to the bathroom several times a night with all those wires! My sleep clinic has DOWN mattresses, not feather, not down/feather, DOWN! Hard as heck to get in and out of!! LOLOL

kayjay14 43 Posted August 17, 2015 I had problems sleeping when I initially went in for my sleep study. My doctor prescribed me a low dose ambien just to help me relax enough to go to sleep. Maybe you can ask your doctor for something to help you sleep

toasty 371 Posted August 26, 2015 I have sleep apnea, was diagnosed 7 years ago and have had a cpap machine ever since. I love it. Never slept so well as after I got my machine. I'm hoping the WLS will eliminate my sleep apnea, but so long as I have it I am so happy to have my machine.
Dream4tc 192 Posted August 26, 2015 @Sparksrn Don't worry about if you sleep or not, it's just a check off. Lots of docs ask for it just to make a better case to your insurance company. Since you know your insurance is going to approve it ask your doc if you have to do it for him or for the insurance company? A lot of these docs are part owners of the sleep center they are sending you to so it's money in there pocket and you may not necessarily need it. Actually if the Physician is doing this, its a violation of the Stark Law. They can get into a lot of trouble for doing this. http://starklaw.org/investment.htm
