Sleep Apnea/Snoring appears to accelerate the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

Recommended Posts

A recent study appears to show that "sleep-disordered breathing" accelerates the onset of "mild cognitive impairment" by at least 11 years.

Before Bariatric surgery, my wife said I snored so much that it would keep her awake all night long. This condition went on for years. But within a few weeks after my RNY the snoring stopped. Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night and find my wife standing over me. I was sleeping so quietly that she was trying to figure out if I was still alive. It is good to know that the loss of this condition (snoring) has a ripple effect to minimize the threat of Alzheimer's disease.

I have hopes that this will help me as well. I have severe sleep apnea (stop breathing on average every 30 seconds while I sleep) and severe snoring. I am currently on a bi-pap machine to help with this, which has helped a lot. I will let you know how it goes. My surgery is scheduled for Friday. Please wish me luck!

Wow. I was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea during my pre op stage so my pulmonary doc won't clear me for surgery till I'm on the cpap machine for at least a month. Sigh. .. here's to brighter days ahead for us.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
