It took me a lot longer to get to regular food than most. I had to stop reading where others could eat anything cuz I'd try it and vomit immediatly.

The upside is I have really great restriction. I still drink Protein drinks and feel full on one.

I am still just introducing some new foods. I tried many foods too soon and they all came back up, proto.

Just trust your body to tell you what works and what doesn't. I still can't eat Protein and vegetables in one meal. Even when the protein is just 2 oz. I wait about an hour to 2 hours after the protien and then eat the vegetable. My doc says it works for me so I eat 4-5 small meals, several are still Protein Drinks. I'm happy with how it's going.

This was me in a nutshell. I am almost two years out and I still can only eat 1/4-1/2 cup in a sitting.

It took me three months to get to solids and I foamed/slimed/vomited regularly for a little over a year if I ate one bite too many or a bite of the wrong thing. I still do from time to time, but I know that bread, rice, Pasta, ice cream, rich cream Soups, etc. are going to lead to bad consequences to I avoid them.

I eat all day. Jerky, nuts, cheese, etc. I sit down for "real meals" but what I consume could fit in a baby food jar with leftovers. I have still not wrapped my mind around this being MY NORMAL but I've not wrapped my mind around fitting into size 8 skinny jeans either.

Both happened. ;)

It's not uncommon to feel that way. Especially if you had a challenging post op experience initially. Hopefully as the weight comes off that feeling changes for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
