boosh10 98 Posted April 16, 2015 Omg.....I'm currently on prednisone for Urticaria (chronic hives) and I'm three months post op and all I'm doing is eating. I'm down 71 lbs already but this damn steroid has increased my appetite like crazy!!!! I'm CONSTANTLY hungry and I feel like I'm gonna stretch my stomach eating this much. And bad thing is...is that I have no problems with any foods whatsoever. Ughhhh..... Just venting!
Kiba 47 Posted April 16, 2015 Prednisone is quite possibly one of the worst things you could put into your system. When I was a pharmacy tech; we would go out of our way to talk to doctors to find alternatives for it. Perhaps your PCP can give you something else? Besides weight gain, it has some terrible side effects, especially after a procedure like this. What you're experience is quite normal for this medication. boosh10 98 Posted April 16, 2015 I know its terrible, but it does wonders. Lol. Thankfully, I'm done in just a few more days.
Aranks 94 Posted April 16, 2015 Think Prednisone is a good contributor to me leading to having to get the sleeve (been put on it 2-3x a year since I was about 8 years old sometimes for months on end). But it is my miracle pill (minus the constant eating, the night sweats, the insomnia, etc haha). Luckily haven't needed it yet since the sleeve, but my doctors have already told me I can go back on it. if needed, hopefully never. Just make sure you get back on track as soon as you can. You'll be alright!
boosh10 98 Posted April 16, 2015 I call it Satan's Cure. Lmao. It helps soooo much, while being so bad for you. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will get back on track.
