kbrodeen 3 Posted April 15, 2015 Do you ever get over the discomfort of even the liquids going down and settling in stomach? Or will it forever be this way?
Casey235 83 Posted April 15, 2015 I'd like to know this also... When do you "swallow" normally!!!
TWJ 13 Posted April 15, 2015 Wondering the same thing myself. If Water and Protein Shakes hurt I'm kinda scared of food!
Priley 0 Posted April 17, 2015 I'm 2 weeks and had the same feeling the first few days after leaving the hospital. It goes away and you will be able to slowly drink liquids. Just follow your surgeons plan and you will get though it. I still have days I feel full and my new tummy hurts. It feels better each day and I have lost 16lbs. Shanea 8 Posted April 17, 2015 I had my surgery April 6th. I have been super careful not to sip more than 1-2 ounces of liquid at a time because I feel pain in my stomach immediately after drinking, especially if I forget to sip. It's weird because I can feel and sometimes hear the liquids moving down. I have found that gas x dissolvable strips help a little. The biggest thing is to sip sip sip. I get hiccups and start burping if I take in too much at once. Good luck!
CE24 23 Posted April 17, 2015 I can take normal gulps but with Water it's about 4 ounces and then im full and with tea it's about 8 ounces I can drink with no problem. Im almost 2 months post op but I realized this quite early on but accident talking a normal sized full and realizing it didn't hurt like everyone claimed.
