Hi Everyone,

Has anyone whom is on the puree last stage heading to the soild food stage had Sesame chicken. I've been asked out to a Chinese Resturant and this is what I like which is on the menu apart from fried rice of course Lol..Lol..

Have a beautiful day

You probably won't get sick but I'm guessing it is not the best choice. Can you have egg drop Soup or miso Soup or something like that? The sauce in most chinese food is something to always avoid but I also don't know if chicken will be good if you haven't had solid food yet. WHat does your NUT say?

Lots of sugar in most Sesame chicken plates. Also most stages don't go from purée to regular foods. Don't you have a soft food phase. I second the egg drop or miso Soup.< /p>

I would still go--just get the Soup (even hot and sour would be good or the dumpling soup without the dumplings). You will get full anyway, and just say you must not be feeling well and can't eat more or that you had a bite before you came or something like that. It's good to be around people!!

My hubby and I go and have Chinese and I only eat the Soup, I'm in the purée stage, I have tried the chicken in the vegetables and did just fine because it's a soft chicken but I only have 1 piece. Good luck

Hello All,

Thank's to everyone whom responed to my post, highly appreciated.

I think it might be best for me to go out though just state to my friends I've an upset tummy. See, I don't like any types of Soups or everything else that you guys have suggested, though thankyou. I might just wait until I've been on the soild stage for a week or so then maybe try the Sesame chicken.

Have a great day all.

Prada.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
