Hi Tampa,

I had my TT, Brest Lift and Lipo on my thighs (lipo hurt the most) in 1 operation. My second operation was brachioplasty (arms) and a face/skin fraczel (spelling?).

My first operation was 8 hrs. I went home same day. My sister in law is an RN, so the doctor said she could handle the drains, meds, etc.

I was up and walking around bent over day 2 after catheter was out.. Then slowly straightened up and I could do light duty (about week 2). 1 month and I was almost back to semi-normal. To be fully, fully functioning it was 4 mos (weight training, etc)

The removed skin did not translate into a big weight loss (4lbs).

Also I suggest getting to whatever your final goal weight is for the best results. I was at my goal and the results were excellent. Afterwards I gained and lost 15 lbs after the surgery (not related to the surgery) and I think it made the results a little less than perfect.

Second to the band.... The cosmetic surgery was my favorite. Good luck

Thank you everyone for your stories, advise and suggestion. My biggest concern at this time is recovery time. I would get it done today if there was not such a long recovery time. Everyone's is so different.

I so believe it has to do with ones overall health, just how strong of a rebounder are you. One day before I was to leave for my lower body lift last year I watched a youtube video from a lady in her late 50's who is also a nurse and was in really good health, who was up and active after two days from having her lower body lift. I saw that and claimed the same victory. When I posted my plan of being mobile in only a couple of days most people said "good luck with that" but believe it or not I was...I did take things slow, but was out and about after a week. Now granted I wasn't standing as tall as I normally do, but in a week or so I was back at my desk at work for a few hours at a time...With in a month I was pretty much back to my ole self...

I am hoping you're right! When my primary care doc cleared me for surgery it was a week before I was scheduled to run a marathon. He said to me "I think if you can handle a marathon you can handle this."

Breezed through marathon recovery and am hoping for the same with plastics!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
