Hello:)

Sunday night I ate some popcorn. Now I have been nauseous off and on ever since. No temp or vomiting.

I figured I'd try it. Nothing else sea to bother my sleeve, but apparently this does :(

Has this happened to anyone?

How far out are you? I was told not to eat anything with little shells or husks until at least 3 months post op.

I have been dying to eat some popcorn. Haven't dared to yet though since I am only 2 months post-op. I hope you feel better soon!

popcorn makes me barf, but I've only had it once about two weeks ago, so that may not be a consistent reaction if I eat it in the future. You're like 4 months post-op? The popcorn shouldn't have hurt you, your sleeve just may have chosen popcorn as one of the things it doesn't like.

Good news. I'm 9 months out and popcorn is great for me. I treat myself at the movies if we go. So a nice way to feel normal again and thank goodness no pain or regret.

So far no issues. It is a slider, so I bring a bag from home and fill it up. That way I only have a portion I am comfortable with !!!

Good luck to you if there is a next time.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
