AnnNTexas 0 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) Hello! Ann in Texas here. Scheduled for gastric sleeve with Dr. Almanza on May 19th. Very excited to begin the weight loss journey using my new tool. I have been overweight for over 10 years, resulting in more and more medical conditions as I age. I have lost the same 30 pounds at least four times. I am looking to the gastric sleeve as a tool for better health for a better quality of life. I am a very active person who enjoys the outdoors and all it has to offer. I like camping, boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and Jeeping off road. I hope to live a long life and do all the things I enjoy with my active (skinny) husband. I hope to meet others to support me through the journey, as I am self pay and going to Mexico Weight Loss Agents for my procedure. I have used on-line forums in the past and feel they are a wonderful resource for support and knowledge. My mother has had lap band for over four years and been very successful. sharonintx 1,275 Posted April 13, 2015 Welcome Ann. I'm around the Dallas area and I chose Almanza too. It was a little over 2 years ago. I liked the guy. I'm sure you have read or heard of the stories about him. In my experience he was excellent. The staff was helpful, I was never alone or afraid, and they took care of everything i needed. i cannot say that I was in luxurious surroundings but it was more than adequate and i lacked for nothing. Almanza gave me just what I asked for, I had no complications or problems, and the sleeve he gave me works like a charm. It does not stretch, it certainly isn't too big, and it is highly effective. Keep in touch! I'd love to hear about your experience and keep up with the transformation you are about to make. Oh - Almanza isn't bad looking either.
