I would keep a journal of what you are eating and drinking for a week? Are you getting 64 ounces of Water a day? Has your diet become to carb heavy? Calorically where are you? Journaling will tell you that. In addition everyone has a different definition of a plateau. How long has it been since you have lost weight? I also find that sometimes I have to adjust my foods when I workout. I also find the pouch diet to be an excellent tool. You can reference that online. Other than that keep up the hard work...you will push through this. The longest plateau I have personally had while I was losing my excess weight was 3 weeks.

How long has it been since you were losing? Are you gaining or remaining consistent. Are you exercising and if so are you taking measurements to see if you are losing inches?

It's hard to provide potential solutions without knowing more. Sometimes I will go 10 days back and forth on the same pound and then all of a sudden it kicks in. I would not call that a stall. I call that my body taking a bit of a breather.

The longest actually stall I had went 3 weeks without any weight loss but I did not gain either. The only thing that worked for me was adding a Protein heavy snack to raise my caloric intake. At the time I had been only getting around 400 calories a day. Now I eat about 950 on average of Protein heavy, good carb meals. I have been losing consistently ever since. Of course I sometimes will fight with a pound for about a week but I always win that battle.

For proper advice you should provide honest exercise amounts, daily caloric in take and Protein intake. the answer to what you need to do lies in these facts.

I doubt that you are starving if your weight loss stopped and still maintaining an 80 lbs. surplus.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
