What Are Your Favorite Excercise Songs?

Recommended Posts

I thought I would start a thread to ask for suggestions. This may not be the "Exercise Forum", but this forum gets more activity, so I cheated! LOL

I want to load up my Ipod with songs that are fast, upbeat, happy...for when I start excercising.

What are your favorite songs for exercising (sp)? I want to get lost in the music and just GO!

Thanks, folks! Stef

I love to run to (in no order of preference)

Screaming Jets, Better

Urge Overkill (anything by them, but Sister Havana is a fave)

The White Stripes, 7 Nation Army

Anything by the RHCP

Sugar Hill Gang, Rappers Delight

Some Led Zepplin

Madonna, Hung Up

Rage Against The Machine, Killing in the name of

Pink Flyod, Another Brick in the wall

KT Tunstall, Suddenly I see

Gnarls Barkley, Crazy, and Go Go Gadget Gospel

And some Janis Joplin, Dave Dobbin, and Stone Temple Pilots to cool down to.

There is a lot more than that on my iPod, but they are a few that I love.

Eye of the Tiger

We Used to Be Friends

Suddenly I See

Wild Boys

We Got the Beat

Maniac

I Wanna Be Sedated

There was a thread like this in the exercise forum several months ago that you might want to search for. I'm with you though -- the more traffic on this the better. New songs to workout to really make a difference to me!

I found the perfect search and got a HUGE return when I used my Limewire account. I will post the list this evening. It's a pretty long list! (Some of the one's listed here already are on it, too.)

I know that most of the time, even if you like a song and it's a slower song (ballad) that you can find a remix of it on a download sight. For example, I like Kelly Clarksons 'Because of you' and I found a great remix to walk to and put it on my MP3. It's fast, and upbeat, and gets my pace up. Just a suggestion to look for these when you dowlnload music.

Last December I went to see George Michale in conert, I wasn't a particular fan of his but I have to say he was AMAZING!!!!!!!! I went home and down loaded all his songs onto my Ipod. I love going for a strong walk in a quiet forest near me, I sing out so loud and don't give a dam!!!!!! I actually think I'm on stage with him......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
