Riding on airplane after loosing 100 pounds!

Recommended Posts

I'm so excited tomorrow I'm getting on a plane after losing 100 pounds. I can't wait to see how much room I will have . Also, I won't have that embarrassing feeling that I'm taking up someone else's part of the seat .

I was amazed after I went on my first post weight loss flight. We had traveled about two weeks before more surgery and I had to use a seat belt extender, couldn't use the bathroom on the plane and board the plane first because I had so much trouble walking. 3 months and 70 lbs later I was on a cross country trip, no extender and could go potty with room to spare! It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful trip and don't cry on the plane like I did. :)

I'm not a fan of heights, but on my next plane ride, I am excited to see if I can put my tray table all the way down. Never been able to do that!! :P

I'm not yet two months out, flew last week for work.

Yeah, I had to tighten down the belt several inches - hadn't done that in years. And the tray table went in front of me without touching my stomach.

Finding appropriate food can be a challenge in the airports, but I'd frozen rolls of turkey and cheese, shoved them into my backpack. By the time I got through security and hit lunchtime, they were thawed.

I'll be on a long haul flight back to the U.S. about 2 months after surgery. I'm looking forward to being able to put my tray down, not bump into everyone in the aisle in my way to the restroom. And holy cow, the bathrooms!! I can't wait to not have to squeeze myself through the door.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
