Welcome,

It helps so much to be able to discuss you problems and fears with people who have experienced it.

It is nice to have a place to "brag" about your 50 lb loss or smaller clothes. Oh you will have lots of good things to post about.

I fondly remember getting in the regular size department , size 18 jeans. No more plus.

Hi--I'm new here, and just starting the process. My insurance requires a 6 month doctor supervised diet. My surgeon will (hopefully) be Dr. Craig Floch of Fairfield Bariatrics. (St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, CT)

So far, I've attended the informational seminar, had a visit with the surgeon, and today had the psyche consult done. Still a bunch of stuff to do.

I'm curious about the reasons people choose lap band, and also the pace of their weight loss.

Also, can anyone suggest an exercise DVD that would be good for someone with BAAAD :phanvan arthritis but who needs to increase their physical activity?

Thanks for all replies!

Carol in CT

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
