ilikecake2much 65 Posted April 11, 2015 Has anyone used Medifast to lose the pre-op weight?I have some just sitting in my pantry and would love to get some use out of it...and seeing as though they want me to lose some weight...win/win right? BUT my surgeon wants me doing a 1200 calorie per day 70grams of Protein "diet". Basically to start eating the way I should for life. Thoughts?
Susanjoyce392 66 Posted April 11, 2015 Most plans call for Protein Shakes and that is perfect for your shakes.< /p>
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted April 11, 2015 Follow your doctor's advice. Getting in that Protein will be important post-op. Starting to make those changes pre-op is good practice for the post-op life. The most valuable thing I did pre-op was practice eating slowly. I'm happy I listened to my team and did it. I've never thrown up or had a case of the foamies thanks to listening to them. It's as much about re-learning how to eat as it is to lose weight. You won't learn how to make a high protein/low calorie diet by using medifast instead of what your doctor recommends.
