Current fill

Recommended Posts

I got a fill on Wednesday which puts me at 5 cc. I'm trying to give it a chance, but cannot swallow anything other than liquid. I can drink Water and Protein Shakes (slowly). I tried eating cottage cheese this evening and it hurt horribly after 2 bites. I want to be able to enjoy a little bit of food. How long to wait before considering a little unfill?

Well now it's friday night so you may be in for a weekend of seeing what's right for you. If it's too tight get a little unfill, no big deal!

Get some saline removed. I personally would have been back the next day.

Eat mushies all weekend and then have a tiny bit taken out Monday.

I got my second fill today and he told me I had 5cc's in my band. I can tell more of a difference than I did after my first fill. I'm on liquid for 24 hours. So I guess I'll be able to tell more when I eat real food if it's working better for me. What did you end up doing? Going and getting some removed?

I still haven't really decided anything. I've had to work the last few days and haven't had time to call when they are open. It still feels incredibly tight, but better than it was. I can literally feel the food pass through the band and it's uncomfortable. I can't eat anything with much consistency and have been having acid reflux when I lay down so I think some needs to come out. I was trying to wait it out a little because with my last full it finally settled in and I felt better, but it's been a week and I still feel too tight.

@@Wvcari you are too tight. If you are having acid reflux when you lie down you need an un-fill. Don't hesitate call them now and go in and get just a tiny bit taken out. Maybe .5cc and it will make all the difference. Acid reflux could cause more issues then you want to deal with and you could have other issues like a dilated pouch etc. I had this happen to me and I had to have all the Fluid taken out and start all over again. Only now am I getting to where I need to be and it's nearly 6 months later.

Take care of you first, the weight will come off but if you set yourself back like I did then it will take that much longer and even longer still if you have complications.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

I called the dr office this morning and the nurse called me back. She wants me to wait it out until Monday and if it isn't any better we will do a small unfill. I don't think it will be much better but I'm ok to wait. I believe it is too tight but I will just do liquid and Protein Drinks until then.

0.5 ml unfill and can already tell a huge difference with just fluids.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
