imjenn 167 Posted May 23, 2015 I had gastric bypass may 18th! I know this sounds weird but the surgery hasn't fully hit me yet. I've noticed that my doc put me on pureed foods wayyyyyy before alot of folks. I put beef stew in the blender today and it was amazing lol I stay scared that I will consume too much tho... it takes me 45 min to an hour to take in 1/4 cup....is that too much?!?!Did they give you little ounce cups? I was told to measure my food in there for a while. Into 3 of them. They did for liquid. My paperwork says that I need to consume 1/4 cup of food over a 30 min period but it takes me alot longer than thatDo you feel full within the 30 minutes, though? I guess I would talk it over with your NUT and see what they decide would be best for this situation!

nancynew 198 Posted May 23, 2015 Hi all. Been doing great. Got all my Protein and Water in easily. I thought I was done with the liquid part on next mon but my paper work says 3 weeks of that and the 3 weeks of pured... ugh lol but I see my surgeon next week so I'll ask him about it.ive now lost 25 lbs since surgery. Highest weight : 530 Surgery weight : 424 Surgery date : 5.11.15 Current weight : 399 Wish I could say the same. Having a hard time getting Protein and fluids in. If just protein or just fluids , I can do it. But both is difficult. Your doing well with your weight lose. Feels so good to know the weight is coming off. you just have to stay vigilant on taking drinks every five mins. Use a timer on your phone. This is what I am doing. It was hard at first.Yeah I am staying on top of it, sips and sips. Not impossible just difficult. We are all in the same boat.
nancynew 198 Posted May 23, 2015 I didn't want anyone to know I was having RNY surgery. Didn't want any negative comments. And frankly , not anyone's business. My husband of course was aware and on board. I have two sons ( grown, don't live with me ) I told them but waited until just 2 days before surgery. I thought in case anything "happened" they should know. So anyway, long story short ...... My sister in law (husbands sister) stops by yesterday and as we are talking she informs me that she went to an informational seminar for gastric bypass surgery. And what did I think about surgery for weight loss. Hahahaha My husband and I look at each other , and I came clean with her. She was so happy to know that she now knows someone who has gone through the process and can be a weight loss buddy. She is just starting her journey , her surgery most likely will be sometime in Sept. I made her swear to keep her mouth closed with other family and friends. She will because she also wants it to be kept hush hush. Never expected that conversation when she came to visit.
imjenn 167 Posted May 24, 2015 General question! When did you all start to see a slow down of your weight loss? I'm losing 1 pound a day now, which is still GREAT, but I was losing 2-4 a day so of course that fact is a little depressing for me, haha

imjenn 167 Posted May 25, 2015 I'm being hit with everything this week. I have thrush on my tongue. Then I developed a yeast infection. Then I got a cold. And now I've got the yeast infection in my belly button. On top of that all, I got my period today. It has not been my week. But I am continuing with my diet and struggling through all these ailments and am happy to report a total weight loss of 29 pounds since surgery two weeks ago! We're doing it, guys! Finally!
