going2servive 36 Posted April 9, 2015 My doc wants me to add a 5th small high Protein meal in each day. He says I've loosing to fast. I though I was doing great. Ive lost 100 pounds in 3 1/2 months, but I hear about the dreaded stalls around the 4-6 month mark. I'm not trying to be arrogant with this topic, but is anyone else having the to much to fast issue? If so, what are you eating and how often?
MisforMimi 760 Posted April 10, 2015 First of all congratulations on your success! I'm certainly not having that problem but there are potential benefits to a more relaxed pace in the weight loss category: 1) You do not have the explain the sudden and rapid weight loss to others 2) Others will not be worried for your safety so soon, they save for when you are closer to goal weight 3) you could potentially avoid problems with your gall bladder 4) your skin will have some measured amount of time to catch to build collagen and elastin stores and *may* not sag as significantly as it would with rapid weight loss 5) you don't have to scramble as fast to get clothes together that will fit you 6) you *may* slow or avoid hair loss issues 7) you will more time to emotionally, physically, psychologically deal with the changes associated with weight loss Follow you surgeon's advice especially if you've have good experiences with him...Keep up the good work! Djmohr 6,965 Posted April 10, 2015 Also I would not count on stalls to slow you down. Following the three week stall that lasted 3 weeks, I have not had any real stalls to speak of and I am now 6.5 months along. Sometimes I get a week where I lose and gain the same pound a couple of times but then all of a sudden I will drop 5 lbs making up for that week where I went back and forth. If he is saying something to you I am guessing he is concerned about how fast you are losing for many reasons.
