75 Pounds Down Today -- I Love My Band!

Recommended Posts

@@dfaulkner hi there and congratulations on your tremendous success. I think we all worry about going back to old habits or complacency. I was a restricter for so many years. Now if I want something I let myself have a bit and then I am not in that mental state of Can't Have. It's a head game, for sure. Boredom can be a factor; if I'm busy I'm not thinking about food.

Pink Dahlia's suggestions are great. Maybe you need a treat so why not find the right one for yourself. I have those 100 calorie yogurts that have real sugar and Steevia in them -- I mix in chia seeds and a little gluten-free Cereal, maybe a few nuts to make it chewy so I get the signal for satiety (otherwise yogurt is a slider for me). This appeases my sweet tooth and my craving for something creamy, plus it's a meal. If I'm short on Protein I put in a spoonful of GENEPRO Protein powder for a 30 gram hit. But that's rare.

I have a bottle of Steevia that I like -- it's from Trader Joe's. There is a lot of variety in taste and you need to be careful to make sure you get one that is 100% Steevia as there are ones out there with less than desirable ingredients. It's super sweet so just try a few drops in something.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing. Four years out is so inspiring!

Bandista, glad to hear all us well with you ! Yes, im having a great summer too, enjoying the unusual hot Seattle are weather for months now. Im enjoying being healthy , and strong for gardening, walking, working out etc. My pants are too loose again, and I feel like a million bucks !!! So, no complaints here, except for someone who has a " name " like Pink Dahlia, you would think I could grow just 2 (!) this year . Major. Fail. Sigh......., maybe next year..................cue Charlie Brown whimper.............

I agree with all the posters on year your positive comments are always welcome..

I am so grateful for my band and even if I never reach my goal just stopping the cycle of losing weight just to get it back again and more will worth the experience.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
