Tummy Tuck anyone????

Recommended Posts

So I am seriously considering getting a Tummy Tuck. I have soooooo much loose skin in my stomach area. I am only 8 months post op and would like to lose about 35 more pounds before I do it.

My question is has anyone had a tummy tuck after the lapband, if so was it painful, and how was the healing process. And did you self pay or did the insurance company help?

THANKS!!!

Yesterday was six weeks since I had a Lower body lift and a breast lift with implants. The lower body lift is a Tummy Tuck, but they cut you all the way around your body, so it lifts the sides and back too. I had vitually no pain at all. I still can't believe it! The only thing I felt was an intense tightness from them pulling the skin tight. That goes away gradually. Now I pretty much just feel a feeling of stiffness when I have been sitting at my desk for a while then I get up. I have been sekf pay all along for the band and the plastic surgeries. I went to Mexico for most of my surgeries. It has been wonderful.

I have this visual of lots of swelling and edema after surgery. If the skin is that tight, doesn't it stretch it a bit?

I have already picked my surgeon for the TT and have every intention in the world of getting it done.

May I ask what you paid in Mexico for the breast lift/implants and the TT? Did you have them done at the same time? Who did it? Would you go back?

I still need to find a surgeon for the breast lift/implants as the TT surgeon won't be doing that.

I still need to find a surgeon for the breast lift/implants as the TT surgeon won't be doing that.

I had the most awesome surgeon! His name is Alejandro Gaxiola. If I were you I would just let him do the tt and breast work at the same time. It's cheaper that way. He quoted me $4100 for the breast lift with implants and $4500 for a tt, but that's getting all of the work done at one time. I think it's a little cheaper when you are having multiple procedures because you only pay gor his fee once as well as the hospital and anestesiologist. Once I got there we decided to do a lower body lift instead of a regular tt and the price went from $4500 up to $5900. I was quoted $10,500 for a lower body lift and about $8000 for a breast aug w/implants in Texas! I don't think I will have any more plastic surgery, but if I did I would definately go back to Dr. G! I prefer him and his hospital over anywhere I have ever been in Texas! When he found out I was there alone he made me stay an extra night in the hospital for free and he sent a nurse and receptionist to my hotel to help me shower for the first time! The receptionist gave me her cell phone # incase I needed anything over the weekend! That would NEVER happen in Texas! I just can't say enough good things about my whole experience! If you are interested in knowing more or if you have more specific questions I will be happy to tell you anyhting you want to know. I can give you the doctor's contact info too.

I don't think my skin has stretched. I think all of that tightness is just a natural feeling after your skin has been pulled and stitched together. It is pretty much gone now.

My results are wonderful! Even at the hospital I looked in the mirror and I almost cried because I never looked this good in my life!

Brandy...

I just sent you my email via PM. I'd really like the contact info for your doc. The guy who will be doing my tt is a friend and I really do want him to do that but the breast surgery he won't do. So I need to find someone for that.

If I go to your doc I'll be sure to let him know who referred me. Never know when you need a favor from him in return! ;)

Thanks!!

I had my TT about 10 months ago. I don't recall a lot of pain, but I was very uncomfortable.

I healed very well. When I went into the surgeons office for my 4 week check up he remarked that I looked more like 8 to 10 weeks post op. My scar looked good and I had minimal swelling.

I live in Oz, so things are done a little differently here. I paid for the whole lot up front, and got various amounts back from my health fund, and Medicare (Australia has socialised medicine) I think my out of pocked was about $1800 out of 10k.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
