So this is just a question for anyone in general. I feel like I have had really great weight loss results and I'm happy in so many ways with my surgery. I think that I'm having some self confidence issues cause I seem to be holding onto fat in my stomach hard core. I have hardly lost any inches in that area. I know that I have been losing in the most ridiculous places. My feet, fingers, shoulders, collarbone and ugh boobs. Just not in the stomach area. I have a trainer, I work out a lot, watch my diet and still just nothing. With this being said I got emotional today and grazed all day and ate over 1000 calories. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice that they are willing to give to me to help with my stubborn spot. We aren't doctors I just want some opinions for people who actually have or many be going through this! Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your weight loss. Unfortunately we can't spot reduce. I'm still pre-op, I carry most of my weight in my stomach area and I lost twenty pounds but I don't see it but I do notice my clothes are looser. If your like me it may take a littel longer to notice a change in the area. Just keep up with your diet and exercise programs and try to stay motivated. Best of Luck.

That's what I already dread because I never had a big stomach my entire overweight life (no rolls - muffin top) . I put on this weight and I look at my waist now and think - YUCK!

I am wondering If you are at goal yet? If not give it time, I too carry a lot of my weight in my stomach. It started coming off of everywhere else first and then stubbornly it has been coming off my stomach. Definately at a much slower rate which is what is pretty common according to my doctor.

Unfortunately my butt which used to be big, is now flat. Just check your measurements once in a while and you will notice the fat leaving one inch at a time.

Grazing certainly won't help matters so don't turn to food and be a bit patient. I am sure the weight on your stomach did not appear overnight, it is going to take some time.

Are stats on your profile current? If so, you are still 100 pounds from goal, and your stomach will keep shrinking the more weight you lose. Just may be one of the last areas to go. I know it is on me! I'm looking to lose 20+ more, but I know in order to have a completely flat tummy, I will need surgery. In the mean time I'm exercising and losing more weight, so I will cross that bridge when I get there. You should do the same. Don't stress about it!

When you work out do you do a lot of core exercises? Because I have noticed that my stomach is poking out a lot more but I have heard that is the muscle building underneath the fat. My trainers do a lot of core stuff.. so crunches, air bikes and planking

Yea definitely not close to goal yet. I just wanted to see if I was the only one experiencing this or is anyone had some good advice on how to kinda get my stomach to go does with everything else. Yes I do a lot of core exercises. In fact I work out 5 days a week and with a trainer twice a week and I do yoga and Pilates on my own. I only eat for emotional reasons and that's why I need to see some results in my stomach. I'm going to keep chugging along and do everything I can but it never hurts to ask right?!

I feel your pain!

For me, the weight will probably be a "first on, last off" thing. I first substantially gained weight in my butt, hips, and thighs... and I expect that is the last place I will fully lose it from. The last places to look really FAT were my face, arms, back-fat, and the above the waist roll... so I bet they will be the first places I really start losing the weight from.

I hate it, lol, because my butt and gut are what I want gone the most!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
