Desirrae16 4 Posted April 9, 2015 My first initial visit with Dr. Michael Orris and the WLIA staff was very professional and thorough. The staff took their time to go over all my questions and explain how the process is for my procedure with the lapband. They made me feel very comfortable and made sure I knew exactly what was involved. I feel really good about my first interaction with them and plan to move forward with the next step in my journey. B-52 7,113 Posted April 14, 2015 An important aspect to my first visit/consultation, was they ran my Insurance, determined the coverage for WLS, and printed out a list of the pre-rquirements I had to go through (Hoop Jumping) including a 6 month Dr. supervised diet. vwdriver95 11 Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Ditto to your experience, B-52. Initially thought it was a big PITA, but it had to be done that way. Edited April 14, 2015 by vwdriver95
Bandista 7,466 Posted April 14, 2015 You are on your way! I must have called my insurance company ten times just to make sure I had it all down correctly. For me there was only one "hoop" and that was a BMI of 40. It was a bit stressful to manage that as I was borderline, but I got there. All of that seems so long ago and now it's less than two years later and I've reinvented my life minus 75 pounds. So grateful. I love my band and my new life!
