First off I wanted to say hello. I had my gastric bypass on march 19, 2015. The reasoning behind the surgery is I had been diagnosed with gastroparesis in December 2014. I had the lap-band done back in 2008 and they replaced it with the realize band in 2009 when they removed my gallbladder at that time due to the first band slipping. The surgeon at the time happened to damage my vagus nerve mid 2014 when they removed the band because my system could not tolerate any saline in that band's fit.

I've been feeling well rounded ever since the drainage tube was removed. The nutritionist has advanced my diet to pureed foods such as deli chicken breast with broth or egg whites with 1 yolk allowed a day. I have no problems with any food that has been allowed so far, however, each day it seems like the 2 ounces I could tolerate of eggs the day before, I can not tolerate maybe more than half an ounce the day after. I was curious if anyone had experiences similar to this. I have been subbing meals with the nutritionist's guidance back to Protein shakes in the mean time when I cannot seem to tolerate food. I am not overly concerned with this as I have to remind myself to actually try to eat because I no longer have the desire since the surgery.

If anyone has any tips for someone just starting their journey to learning about their new stomach I would love to hear them. Also just wanted to mention that Dr. Rosenthal at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL was my surgeon this time around for the bypass, and I was very happy to find him. The one truth I have learned so far in the entire journey to get here, doctors are usually very good, and their staff, such as the front desk and medical assistants typically want to make you go postal (sorry to any postal employees who may read this, I mean no offense by the term).

Looking forward to hearing information from anyone who is willing to share.

Thanks for the help in advance
