Any good places you suggest to eat when you are in the soft food/approaching the regular food?

Are you allowed ground meats and legumes yet? If so, any place that serves chili is a good option, since they usually serve cups of it and it's high Protein.< /p>

Yeah that's a good idea. Maybe a place like panera might be good?

Yep! I believe they have turkey chili and black bean Soup on their normal menu, so both of those would be good, high Protein options.

Diners are also good, especially those that do 24 hour Breakfast. You can always get some soft scrambled eggs

I don't go out to eat very often, but when it is necessary, I head for a place Baker's Square, Panera, Bob Evans, etc., for lunch or dinner (large variety for everybody) or anyplace I can get an omelet or eggs for Breakfast. Also, I agree that anyplace that offers chili or a hearty Soup is ok.

Always nice if you have someone to share with. Otherwise, ask for a "to go" container right away. There will be leftovers. :)

I pretty much ate at home during that period. Frankensleeve did not like any foods too well. But the few times I did eat out, it was Mexican food. Re-fried Beans and guacamole, queso, and the finely ground taco meat.< /p>

One of my first meals out was Mexican as well. Our favorite place serves "Mexican Breakfast" on Saturdays, so I had eggs with some cheese and enchilada sauce and some refried Beans. I think I got about three meals out of it with all the leftovers!

I tried refried Beans at a restaurant, and it was a terrible experience.

I've been successful anywhere where they have Soup.. or fish..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
