I'm 22 days post op and my diet sheet says I can have hard boiled eggs now. I had one yesterday for lunch, not my favorite but it was convenient, and everything was fine. I had another one today for lunch, ate slowly, chewed well, etc and felt fine for a few minutes and then threw up. not much actually came up, but so many heaves. I felt much better after, but now I keep getting waves of nausea. I don't understand why, if anything I took more time to eat and chew today than I did yesterday. Could I be ok with a food one day but not the next?

It is possible. eggs can be difficult in the early weeks, anyway.

Yes. HB seems harsh. Try white part only, or soft scrambled (just egg; no mild; spray pan with PAM). Also, a WHOLE EGG!!?That seems a bit much so early on. Lots of different opinions out there. But you're body is not agreeing with the one proscribed to you.

At day 22 I could only eat 1/2 of an egg and it took forever to get that much in.

That could be the issue here.

It was a small egg and I ate half and then waited a little while to eat the other half. I'm guessing it was too much and too heavy though. It's just confusing that I had the same thing yesterday and it didn't bother me.

I agree with the others, at 10 weeks post op, I still can't eat a whole egg at one sitting and still can have problems with it. I have eaten foods one day and then the next time not been able to eat it. I also can eat better in the middle of the day than I can in the mornings and evenings. Also, look at how you are sitting. I found that if I slump I have more problems than if I sit up straight. You will learn how to work it out. You are doing great!

Thanks for the replies! I have been slowing down even more and taking smaller bites. I'm sure it was just too much on my pouch. The funny thing is that I was at the hospital because my husband just had gastric bypass, so I went to the cafeteria hungry and that was the only thing they had on my diet sheet. This is a learning experience for sure! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
