Kichi 9 Posted April 8, 2015 I'm 22 days post op and my diet sheet says I can have hard boiled eggs now. I had one yesterday for lunch, not my favorite but it was convenient, and everything was fine. I had another one today for lunch, ate slowly, chewed well, etc and felt fine for a few minutes and then threw up. not much actually came up, but so many heaves. I felt much better after, but now I keep getting waves of nausea. I don't understand why, if anything I took more time to eat and chew today than I did yesterday. Could I be ok with a food one day but not the next?
woo woo 872 Posted April 8, 2015 It is possible. eggs can be difficult in the early weeks, anyway.
rte837 141 Posted April 8, 2015 Yes. HB seems harsh. Try white part only, or soft scrambled (just egg; no mild; spray pan with PAM). Also, a WHOLE EGG!!?That seems a bit much so early on. Lots of different opinions out there. But you're body is not agreeing with the one proscribed to you.
woo woo 872 Posted April 8, 2015 At day 22 I could only eat 1/2 of an egg and it took forever to get that much in. That could be the issue here.
Kichi 9 Posted April 9, 2015 It was a small egg and I ate half and then waited a little while to eat the other half. I'm guessing it was too much and too heavy though. It's just confusing that I had the same thing yesterday and it didn't bother me.
Chrystee 838 Posted April 9, 2015 I've had things not agree with me one day, then fine the next..
julia4mom 19 Posted April 9, 2015 I agree with the others, at 10 weeks post op, I still can't eat a whole egg at one sitting and still can have problems with it. I have eaten foods one day and then the next time not been able to eat it. I also can eat better in the middle of the day than I can in the mornings and evenings. Also, look at how you are sitting. I found that if I slump I have more problems than if I sit up straight. You will learn how to work it out. You are doing great!
foodfighter78 258 Posted April 9, 2015 I use only egg white, because the all egg is too heavy
Kichi 9 Posted April 9, 2015 Thanks for the replies! I have been slowing down even more and taking smaller bites. I'm sure it was just too much on my pouch. The funny thing is that I was at the hospital because my husband just had gastric bypass, so I went to the cafeteria hungry and that was the only thing they had on my diet sheet. This is a learning experience for sure!
