Easy to take vitamins

Recommended Posts

So preop I went to GNC and got "their best men's health vitamin". Started taking it preop and while disgusting tasting, it was fine. Now, I can't swallow them without gagging and choking. And that is AFTER cutting them in four pieces. These things are horse pills and I have taken to not taking them regularly because it's so difficult. Is there any good Vitamin supplement out there that's easy to swallow or is in liquid form? I am actually debating getting a grinding bowl and grinding them into powder everyday.

For the first four weeks after surgery I took Wellesse liquid multi-vitamins. I got mine from Amazon but I think you can find them at drugstores, too. I did a double dose, one in the morning, one in the evening. I had no trouble with them -- they are better kept in the fridge. You can dilute with Water or Gatorade if you want to. After four weeks, I switched to Trader Joe's High Potency chewables. They taste fine and never caused me any problems. They are also a lot cheaper, lower calorie, and lower carb than other Vitamins. I have had my labs drawn regularly and they have always been great.

I bought a bariatric liquid Vitamin at GNC. Had a real strong Vitamin taste and smell.....don't get it on your skin or clothes....it won't come off. I saw this earlier on another post....you might want to check it out... http://www.procarenow.com/Bariatric-Complete-Chewable-MultiVitamin-Once-Per-Day--Formulated-for-Roux-en-Y-Vertical-Sleeve-Duodenal-Switch-30-Day-Supply_p_10002.html

My surgeon told me to take Centrum chewable (had to be the orange one) or two (2) chewable Flintstone's Vitamins. This was in addition to my sublingual b-12 and chewable Calcium citrate from the Vitamin shop, that was actually pretty rough. But chewable and liquids do exist! Eventually pills get easier. :)
