Maybe it's the fact that I'm cutting down both caffeine and sugar but boy do I feel blue. Did anyone go through this? I'm at half-caff coffee & pretty much no sugar. I need to get out of this funk. My surgery date is April 27.

After you lose your weight, what do you want to do? I really want to go horseback riding, bodysurfing & take a segway tour. I want to do everything I haven't felt I could do.

Everyone else?

Awwww, hang in there! Your new journey is right around the corner! And yes, I'm a total wreck without caffeine! I'm sure the withdrawal has a lot to do with your mood.

I'm going to Hawaii for the fist time around the time you're having your surgery, and I'm going to go scuba diving and will be hiking up to a volcano. Things I know I couldn't or wouldn't have done before surgery :)

Hope you start to feel better and good luck with your upcoming surgery! Keep us posted!

I'm feeling blue but I'm 3 weeks put of my surgery! I'm getting very frustrated about food, bumping episodes, I'm not feeling happy like I thought I would, I'm loosing weight but I don't care, I look at overweight people and think : I should stay like them, they look happy and confident. I dream at night about my surgery day and me saying : stop ! I don't want to do this. Tell me this is only a phase!

I'm in the same boat. I'm at the end of my first preop diet week and my emotions are all over the place. I've also had a dull headache that comes and goes. I'm guessing it's the carb withdrawal

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
