i was banded 6/18 afternoon.....and went back to work yesterday - Wednesday for half a day. I'm here today hopefully for the full day. No complications...no problems. The firt night was a little uncomfortable,,,but since that time - smooth sailing. I hope everyone else is the same

My 4 yr old grandson was here and I pushed him in the swing on Tuesday for about 1/2 hour. He loved that. it was good for me too - I think being up and about has made a big difference than if you lay around.

I Have Lost 12 Pounds So Far!!! But The Bad News Is Im Hungry Again And I Still Have A Long Way To Go Before My First Fill (can't Handly Wait!) Yesterday We Were Told My The Doctor We Could Start pureed food I Have Never Been So Excited In My Life. Glad your well, I too am fighting hunger and I have to admit I have broken some of the rules. I am trying to stay to the small amounts but I am so hungry and not restricted it is hard. I had a vanilla ice cream and I have had to snack a few times, still I am 15 pounds lighter and I have been making but for my ooops by extra time on the treadmill or hiking. I keep reminding myself that this is not like gastric bypass and we are expected to loss 2 pounds a week. Like you, I am sure, I do not want to fail at this. Then I keep in mind that I am here because I have problems with food, DUH me, with no restriction th eproblem is still there. Good luck and hang in there.

PS my surgeon does the first fill 6 weeks post op I have 2 1/2 to go :faint:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
