Calories and PB'ibg

Recommended Posts

So when you eat, and you are having one of those days where you PB most of what you eat... How do you account for the calories? MFP doesn't have the "I are this much but only retained this much" feature.

Are you worried you're not getting enough calories??

I know many people have found good results using things like MFP.....personally, I feel they do not apply to people who have done something as aggressive as Weight Loss surgery.

I used a tracker...tracked everything I did and ate...well, in my case, one of the most liberating things I experienced with this surgery was when I stopped worrying about it, stopped counting calories, all that.

I focused my attention on getting the band working correctly and choosing and eating the right foods.

But like I said, that was MY experience....other people have theirs and swear by the process....

I've been using MFP to keep me on track since an unfill and gain. But yesterday nothing stayed down, but last night I was able to get Powerade, Water, and beef broth down so I'm feeling much better. But yes, I was worried about not getting any calories.

Personally my concern wouid not be the number of calories but the fact you are some days PBing enough to make it an issue. PBing should be a really occurrence. In my nine years, I have never had "one of these days".

I don't have them very often... Usually the week before my period my restriction increases and I have episodes. Plus the weather and a lot of allergy sinus drainage exacerbated everything.

Great! You had me worried! I imagined it much worse!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
