Well, it's week three and I'm not eating nearly enough as I should. Eating has become revolting to me and I can barely stomach my Protein Drinks, usually tossing half.

I'm probably eating about 30 - 40 grams of Protein if I'm lucky. I am getting plenty of fluids however, prob not near the 64 oz. recommended.

I'm tired, but not exhausted, however no energy or desire to do cardio.

To top it off the scale says I've gained 3 lbs in one day but I've virtually been living off Water, Decaf green tea and Isopure liquid.

What gives?

Also, how soon can/should I begin cardio?

Try adding unflavored Protein to crystal light. I normally add 1 and 1/2 tablespoons to a 20 oz bottle of Water and you can't taste the protein. I do that 3 times a day and get in 60 oz of water and an extra 26 proteins....killing 2 birds with one stone . Good luck on your journey ;)

I don't think you should start doing cardio until you are meeting your Protein and Fluid goals. Also, the gain can actually be Water retention, which can be caused by dehydration. I think you should focus on trying to increase your Protein, GiniMarie had a good suggestion for that, and making sure you are getting enough fluids in right now. This should help with the tiredness too!

Morning.

I never drank a Protein drink after surgery, It was disgusting!!!

I made sure I drank enough Water, ate 2 teaspoons every two hour of some soft mushy food, which is what you should be on and nothing more.

Exercise, I would wait until after your 2 month f/u with your provider. Your stomach is still healing.

Breathe....Relax.....weight will come off............stop rushing it.........and oh yeah, STAY OFF THE scale because it will only depress you...................

If you are not eating aNd not getting your fluids in, it explains why you feel like crap. No matter how hard it is, you must work at getting your fluids in first followed by Protein at this stage. I promise you will feel better.

Have you tried greek yogurt? There are so many flavors maybe one that you might like..dannon has light and fit that has 12 germs of Protein and I added a scoop of isoprene vanilla zero carb Protein which gives it 25 more g of protein..even if it takes you have a day to get it down it's a good amount.

Have you called your dr..maybe they can give you a nausea med and that would help with your appetite

I was doing well at my two week checkup that my dr cleared me for all exercise except power lifting lol..lke I was ready for that! Not! I am walking a ton which has helped immensely even when I was tired and sore at the beginning. I am now doing basic yoga and Zumba for beginners..can't get through it all and I avoid thevjumping because of bad knees but it helps.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
