BeautyLocs40 16 Posted April 12, 2015 Thanks for your kind words, JLMet. Another poster on this site who's also gone through a revision said my experience is neither normal nor acceptable, and I should definitely check back in with my dietician. I'll give her a call tomorrow. In the interim, I'm going to take a page from your book and stop weighing myself every day.
Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted April 13, 2015 I think we’ve all had this fear! After all, we’ve all been through diets that didn’t work…that’s why we turned to weight loss surgery. It’s perfectly normal to worry about that. Plus, the fact that it’s a surgery makes it so much scarier, at least it does to me. As long as you follow your surgeon’s instructions after surgery, you will lose weight.
JLMET 40 Posted April 13, 2015 BeautyLocs, I hope you feel better and yes, don't weigh yourself every day, that's a good way to make yourself nuts. Our body weight fluctuates up and down constantly. My nutritionist said the best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning, before you've had anything to eat. Pick a day and just weigh yourself once a week, it's much less stressful. I hope things get better for you!
JLMET 40 Posted April 14, 2015 Just a quick updated, I did my weekly weigh-in and I've lost 5lbs! So the careful eating and exercise is working. Thanks to EVERYONE for their support. I love this forum!
QuilterGal 216 Posted April 28, 2015 I didn't read everyones comment..but I can tell ya I told my surgeon that I would be the odd one that this would NOT work on me..lol..he laughed at me haha...been there done that! I'm sure they hear this all day everyday.. yes I had my fears. its a mind game and you have to squash it. toss out the scales if you have to. I am 10 PO now I have consistantly dropped except for that 3 wk stall and it last almost a month then it was all fine. hang in there! don't worry follow your plan and trust it works.. This is how I feel sometimes. What if I'm the lone anomaly, the planet that doesn't circle the sun, the Earth that really is flat, and this doesn't work for me. But I try to shake it off because I know where it's coming from -- years of yoyo dieting.
