I haven't had the surgery yet, but I weigh 255lbs at 5"3. My ideal weight is 119lbs. I'm curious about saggy skin, has anyone had it? How do you prevent it? Anything I can do pre-op to help minimize it after weight loss? I need help, I'm super nervous about it.

HI.

Hope your Easter was a good one.

Here are some simple things to remember.

1. You are becoming healthier, who cares about extra skin. I would rather have the skin, then be 6 feet under the

ground.

2. Drink lots/lots/lots of Water. This keeps your skin hydrated and healthy. If your mom has/had healthy skin, you will

follow in her footsteps. My mom's skin was beautiful. I will be 50 and seriously do not look older than 40.

3. Yes, exercise. But be care to only TONE not weight lifting as this gives you muscle mass and weighs more.

I have the skin under my arms. But I cannot afford $5,000 for an arm lift, and insurance will nto pay for this. I have loose skin on my legs, I just have to get use to it because, again, no way I can afford to have it removed. As for my stomach, I really didn't have a stomach so there is not much there. Mine was mostly in my Ass and Thighs. :( But again, I am healtheri and can run and play with my grand-daughter.

Due to the length of my excess arm skin, I think they look more like a banner waving in the wind! Everyone say the best thing for sagging skin is exercise and hydrating. I read that the sagging is worse with people in their 50's and 60's. Despite the skin on my arms and legs, I do not regret ever having my surgery. I am so much healthier than before and feel wonderful.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
